Intriguing first person account of being involved in defending books from censorship. While the account is intriguing, I do wish it had included more citations to the sources of events she refers to. For example, she mentions a Tennessee district court case that I *think* I know what it is, but the details don't match exactly.
Claudia tells of her trials of fighting censorship in schools in the 1980s. I got frustrated with the Christian views, but her story was well told with interweavings of her personal life throughout.
Very readable and interesting but perhaps just a tad self-congratulating for being on the "right" side of the censorship issue. The book gives a real life taste of the conflict -- on one side stand people who know what they don't want their kids reading in high school, and and on the other side stand people who see the link between banning books and stifling a student's growth into a thinking, analytical adult.
