When Cuba Conquered Kentucky: The Triumphant Basketball Story of a Tiny High School that Achieved the American Dream by Marianne Walker
I love this story of a tiny Kentucky high school and thier rise to the State Championship. Did I mention the Harlem Globtrotters figure in thier game plan! It's a wonderful story covering the history of rural basketball, some of the poorest non-black communities in the US, the NCAA basketball tounement and the triumph of the human spirit.
My only question is why no one has turned it into a screen-play yet.

This was just a great book! It's long, but it's worth it. The book tells the story of the love between Margaret Mitchell (who wrote Gone with the Wind) and John Marsh. It's well-written and easy-to-read. It is also very well-researched and provides and excellent narrative of their lives together.
