This book chronicles the up's and down's of how one man deals with both Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a condition called Spondylolisthesis which is the anterior or posterior displacement of a vertebra or the vertebral column. One deals with the emotional onsets that occur after being submitted to severe psychological trauma. The other is a physical debilitation that affects the person's posture as a result of the person's vertebral displacement.
Paul chronicles his conditions as far back show more to the age of three, allowing the reader to gain a deeper understanding as to what he's been going through. We're able to empathize with him and feel what he is feeling as he tries to go about his every day life. We're also able to understand the difficulties that he's encountered along the way because of his conditions.
Writing about his experiences has been a means of therapy for him which allows him to deal with what has been going on inside of him. He also lends us sufficient insights on repression, food allergies, exercising, as well as a couple sections on money management that one can implement on our day to day lives.
Paul's book is both interesting and thought-provoking. At times, it read a bit like that of a report, but I must say that I enjoyed the book. It allowed me to see what Paul has been going through and I can certainly empathize with him on it. While his conditions are debilitating, he's shown that it's possible to make the effort to overcome them, even when it sometimes feels so hard to do. show less
