despite this being a pre-1999 book, there is great material here and the last chapter talks about reiki variants even in 1998. The material is solid and thoughtful and seeks to inform reiki practitioners about technique and methods as well as good basic work for reiki students of the time... It was one of my favourite books in its time.

this is actually a second edition of Rowland's 1998 "Traditional Reiki for Our Times". As noted in my previous notes, that volume was published before the emergence of Traditional Japanese Reiki in the west. The current volume is much of the 1998 material but fully updated to the moment with the addition of much 'new' information about Traditional japanese reiki and techniques. the section on different kinds of reiki is updated. Still recommended!

this is a solid journey through the reiki principles, with great teaching and reflections on reiki as a spiritual pathway. recommended

after her first book in 1998, in 2005, Rowland attended URRI 2005 and met some of the modern reiki pioneers. She includes Traditional Japanese reiki techniques in this book, as well as a great examination of the role of Intuition in Reiki healing and practise.
