Knopf Guides

This guide/map book was fabulous while we were in Paris. It was clear and easy to read, but also full of information. The restaurant recommendations were great too!

There are some great poems here, along with a few that seemed too much for me. I especially liked Sarah Arvio and Anne Carson. Joan Didion reading Gerard Manley Hopkins was a real treat!

I can't recommend this Knopf guide highly enough. A slim elegant volume, printed in Italy on high quality glazed paper, this book is not only packed with information, it is visually appealing. This is a must-have book for the Croatian traveler, or for the person who just wants to learn the region.

ehhhh.....picked it up because I thought it would be a nice, compact map book for NYC. Used it once, and replaced it with a Not For Tourists NYC guide, which kicks ass.

All sauce, little substance. Will probably give it up when I do my summer weeding.
