Hildegard G. Frey (1891–1951)

I found this book to be quite delightful. Overall, it has help up well over the last century plus. Reading about independent girls doing their own thing in 1916 had to be uplifting for little girls of the time (if their parents let them read it). The Camp Fire Girls go on a road trip and nothing goes as planned. Fun and unpredictable.

Hilariously surreal. It put me in mind of Three Men And A Dog. These Camp Fire Girls are a riot, a caution and a kick. Plus it was free and I read it on my phone.

There's no way to find out now, but I certainly hope my grandmother read this book. It reminded me of the stories she and her sisters would tell, and it probably has about as much truth in it.
