Mrs. John Boogher is Granted Divorce
Action Is Taken in Pennsylvania Court - Child's Custody Divided

A divorce from John P. Boogher Jr. was granted Mrs. Susan Meriwether Boogher in West Chester, Pa. on grounds of desertion, Wednesday, according to telegrams received by friends in St. Louis yesterday.

The Booghers, natives of St. Louis, were married here December 6, 1907, and resided at 6345 Washington avenue until early in 1923, when they moved to New York. Boogher was at that time connected with the Certain-teed Products Corporation and was a member of the University Club and the Artists' Guild. Mrs. Boogher was the one time president of the St. Louis Chapter of the Junior League and during the primary campaign of 1922, was president of the Rid-Us-Of-Reed-Club. She also has had some success as a short story writer.

Boogher was represented by an attorney, but did not contest the suit. By agreement, John P. Boogher III, their only child, will spend the school year with his mother and vacations with his father, who is now engaged in the candy business in St. Petersburg, Fla. They have been separated since August 1924.

Mrs. Boogher now resides at Strafford, Pa. with her sister, Mrs. Norman McLure, formerly Miss Elizabeth Meriwether. Mrs. McLure and Mrs. Boogher are the daughters of Rivers Meriwether, a member of the St. Louis bar, who died about thir... [cut off]
