This is another book I savoured, although initially I felt cross with her misleading ‘the client’, I soon became caught up in the client’s recounting of his early life in Belfast. The setting during an Auckland blackout and her work in mending garments I found an original backdrop from this novelist. This is another writer appearing at the Auckland Writers Festival and I will be interested to read more of her work.
