About the Author
Ralph Thompson was born in Jamaica, in 1928. After earning his Doctor of Law degree at Fordham University in New York, he served for two years as an officer in the US Air Force in Japan, after which he returned to Jamaica and started his career as businessman, painter, and poet He is the author of show more four poetry books, The Denting of a Wave (1993), Moving On (1998), View from Mount Diablo (2003,2009), which won the 2001 Jamaican National Literary Award, and Taking Words for a Walk New and Selected Poems (2012). show less
