Married to a clan chief, running a luxury hotel on Skye and with extensive writing, consultancy and cookery class activities (see www.claire-macdonald.com). This is a super book with different occasions as chapter headings, not always the obvious ones, e.g. Confirmation Lunch and Funerals, as well as the more expected Barbecues and Picnics, Birthdays and Christmas. Highly recommended.
This is a really useful book of fish recipes. It is divided into broad catagories such as soup, main courses, special occasions, and there is some information about cooking methods for fish etc. Many of the recipes are Claire MacDonald's versions of well known fish dishes eg: Kedgeree, Moules Marinieres and so on, however there are some excellent simple dishes which are perfect for family dining. This is a good book for a fairly new cook who would like to cook more fish.
If you are going to organize a cookbook by month, please include a Table of Contents, or at the very least, put the names of the month in the index.
