from the romance bookbox; nice historical western. Widowed Mercy drove 100 head of cattle from Colorado to Abilene, Kansas, so she could get enough money to pay off the mortgage on her ranch. When her cowhands quit, Thad offers to pay Mercy to guide him to his sister's in Colorado and provide an extra hand to fend off bandits.
