A reviewer says J.B can't sing which is a bit harsh. What generally happens is that Jackson's voice tends to sound too callow for the sophisticated lyrics he has written, especially so on "Late for the sky". The songs are moving, the backing musicians are as good as any you could wish for, and on his first five albums his writing is consistently good. J.B. should not be written off so casually.
His first and one of his best. A friend of mine said he wrote lyrics that could stand alone without the music. I guess that's right, but I'm glad they don't have to.

Recorded live on the run, in hotel rooms and backstage, etc. You've gotta have brass balls to release something like this. The last song, "Stay" is just about perfect.

The soft rock singer/songwriter's third album.

1/4 (Bad).

Super boring. It's like it has a perception filter; you can't tell it's playing unless you concentrate, and it disappears the moment you look away. Also, the guy can't sing.
