Francis Wheatley

Originally published in 1821, this was extremely interesting to read. It is written by an English author and includes an introduction that begins, "To amuse the little folks of New York [...]." It then includes a two page poem about life in London that is quite interesting and plays London up as a very rich and cultured city, though not without its fair share of crime and scandal. Then it goes into several pages with small black drawings of different people on the streets of London who are show more selling various goods. Such an old piece of children's literature was so interesting to read through! show less
