Review:
This book follows to children who were born in Japan but moved to America shortly after. First, we go through a lot of pages of traditions upheld by Japanese tradition, explaining each and giving a picture along with the words. We end the book with the author saying how sharing traditions can build friendships.
This book is informational, Although is has main characters they appear only in the first and last page. The rest of the pages show more show different holidays and traditions in the Japanese culture. Coming from Japan I know that all of these pages are in fact very true and accurate!
Use:
1) Use as an opener to talking about traditions and sharing in each others traditions
2) Embrace each others differences
