A very detailed account of one of the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous. A few of the details were left out but it was a great expose on Mr. Wilson and the founding of the program. He was a promoter and a late stage alcoholic who, in the right time and place, with some divine intervention became a great man, despite himself. The book shows the warts as well as the accomplishments and therefore was a great biography.
Bill W.: The absorbing and deeply moving life story of Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous by Robert Thomsen
Interesting and insightful biography of the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous is marred by the author's tendency to delve too deeply into the subject's inner thoughts. Long portions of the book read more like a novel than a biography, as the author plumbs the innermost workings of the subject's mind. Still, a worthwhile read for persons interested in the history of AA.
