A wonderful story of the life and miracles of St. Benedict, the “father of Western monasticism"
Not as good as Marigold Hunt's The First Christians. Shows Paul's irascable side clearly. Very short chapters -great for reading aloud. Refers to his various epistles. Needs a map.
Just finished reading this book. Yes it written for Children. But I am a member of the Order of Preacher aka Dominicans. And this year our study is the life of Saint Dominic, our Founder. I enjoyed the book
very similar to 1950s vision book, but chapters are broken into smaller and doesn't have last chapter talking about influences of Benedict in later centuries
