Full disclosure, I bought this primarily for the Jeff Jones cover art.
The story is a simple tale of a young man who returns to his childhood home to exact vengeance upon the superstitious villagers responsible for burning his mother as a witch. The cover copy says it is "in the chilling tradition of Rosemary's Baby," but it is more in the lurid tradition of old Hammer films.

Not the strongest Peter Saxon novel I've read, but still a pretty good read. I believe "Peter Saxon" was actually several different authors taking turns writing under that pseudonym so the books can vary - however if you like your horror pulp then they seldom disappoint.
