Short biography
NEW YORK TIMES/USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

Even though she graduated with a degree in science, Tara knew she’d never be happy doing anything other than writing. Specifically, writing love stories.

She started with a racy BDSM story and found she was not quite prepared for the unforeseen impact it would have. Nonetheless, she continued and The Submissive Series novels would go on to be both New York Times and USA Today Bestsellers. One of those, THE MASTER, was a 2017 RITA finalist for Best Erotic Romance. Over one million copies of her books have been sold worldwide.

Darkest night is the first full-length novel in the Sons of Broad series. As you might know, I was very eager to get my hands on this book because I wanted answers. The unfortunate thing is that I didn't get them and even worse I got more. We get deeper into the gentleman's world by reading a few parts from his point of view and Jade's. I know that is a little far-fetched, but I want Jabe to be the sister the Benedict's didn't know they had. Jade might not be the best person at the moment, show more but she can be forgiven.

The timeline of this book is a little unclear to me. I think the story begins around the time the first novella began and some point halfway it continues after the time the third novella ended. I hope that will be clearer when I read the second book. It drives me mad thinking that 5 books will be released in two months (the second book is coming on March 27th) and the third will be released in June. I don't know how much longer I can wait to find out what will happen to all the characters. In this book, we have a lot of things going on and I kept turning the pages to find clues and what the author planned for each character. I was happy with the romance and the suspence. We got teased about the upcoming couples and I am already invested in their stories. I would recommend the book and I will say that you don't have to have read the novellas to read this book, but since I enjoyed them I would say to read them too.

Abby knows that Nathaniel talked the bank out of foreclosing on her mother’s house and has followed him since. When she has the opportunity to enter his life she does, as his submissive in Tara Sue Me’s THE SUBMISSIVE, book 1 of her The Submissive trilogy. Nathaniel does not train submissives but he cannot resist Abby because of the past. Both have feelings towards the other from the beginning. How does it work for them? Can they put those feelings aside to have a Dom/sub relationship? show more Will those feelings eclipse the Dom/sub relationship?

THE SUBMISSIVE is one wild ride. I love first person point-of-view because I become that character. Tara Sue Me did well. Never does her story leave Abby’s point-of-view. I only knew what Abby felt, thought, and conveyed in her conversations. I learned what others thought of her and Nathaniel together through their conversations with Abby. I loved being immersed in Abby.

Abby and Nathaniel were fantastic characters. Abby has no idea what is truly in store for her with Nathaniel. Watching her move out of her librarian world into his wealthy world fascinated me. She is not overly confident but she is able to hold her own in that world. When her best friend, Felicia, does not approve of her becoming Nathaniel’s submissive, she notes it but makes her own decision to do it. Abby’s confusion comes through when Nathaniel asks her questions in public. She wonders what answer he wants. Nathaniel is not always clear of how the two should interact in public. I could feel Abby’s hesitation when answering questions. I also loved that Abby learned to know Nathaniel in ways that few had. I learned about Nathaniel as Abby learned. When they came to an impasse she was strong enough to say enough and walk away with dignity. She was also able to eventually pick up the pieces of her life and get through the days that followed. Abby was truly a strong woman who knew what she wanted, how to get it, and when to say no. Excellent role model.

The secondary characters were excellent also. Most of them were Nathaniel’s family and friends. I was amazed at how quickly they took to Abby. Their reactions were based on how Nathaniel was changed by Abby. I would like to know these people. While non-judgmental, they stood up for what they believed and spoke their minds. I also liked that Felicia and Jackson, Nathaniel’s cousin, had their love story. Although it was smoother than Abby and Nathaniel’s.

Abby and Nathaniel’s relationship develops through their Dom/sub scenes. The sex is hot and plentiful. I liked that the BDSM was brought into the story and explained by Nathaniel to Abby, not just the how but the why. It was interesting and made it less fearful for her. I also liked how Nathaniel took his time with Abby and learned her and her body. I knew what Nathaniel could not say to her. I wish he would have let her know but that would have been too easy a story—probably too short a story, too.
I look forward to reading book 2 of the series, THE DOMINANT.

This was such a gentle romance. Anna and Navin's story was a very satisfying one told of 2 strong personalities with real issues. I admired their connection and growth and RL troubles. I had issues with how Anna believed that Navin did something, and also felt there was a story thread that was a huge anticlimax.
All in all, it was a lovely read.

*Thanks NetGalley for the ARC*
This story captivated me with its blend of romance and suspense. In this second installment of the Benedict Brothers series, I dove into the intricate world of Franklin Benedict's heirs, their wealth, and the shadows of their past. The story centers on Bea Jacobs and Knox Benedict, a couple facing hurdles from Bea's traumatic accident. Bea's PTSD and anxiety felt palpable as I journeyed through her struggles. Despite missing the first book, the plot slowly unfolds, revealing layers of family show more secrets and threats. Despite their separation, Knox's unwavering devotion to Bea's safety was heartwarming. I craved more backstory about their relationship, yet appreciated the suspenseful narrative filled with unexpected twists. Tara Sue Me masterfully painted the characters' emotions, making me eagerly await the third book to unravel the lingering mysteries. show less
