What a brilliant little book of poetry. Each one of these poems is a diamond in the rough. Not only are they laugh-so-you'll-cry inducing, but the humor coats much deeper feelings of malaise and failure.
Read these out loud. I dare you to get through them without laughing and crying at the same time.
Newman came to read at the Poetry Society of GA's first reading for the 2011-12 season. His presence at the podium evoked chortles typically saved for the best stand-up comics. In one fell swoop show more he was endearing, gross, and honest. If have a chance to read or hear his poetry, do yourself a favor and don't pass it up. show less
