- Elizabeth Thomas, née Wolferstan, was born in 1770 or 1771 in Devon to Mary and Edward Wolferstan. Not much else is known about her life. In about 1795, she married the Rev. Thomas Thomas, vicar of Tidenham, Gloucestershire. Her religious poetry and novels received mixed reviews. She may also be the "Mrs Bridget Bluemantle," who wrote nine Minerva Press novels from 1806 to 1818. She also used the pseudonym of Mrs. Martha Homely.
