Essential guide to bluewaater cruising
“When other boats scurry back to their berths just ahead of the setting sun, you want to keep sailing. You want your tracks to be the only ones on a perfect sand beach of a deserted tropical island, you want to see the green flash, taste the coconut milk from the husk…” This excellent book takes the dream and walks the reader through the very many practical topics that need to be addressed in making it come true.
Beginning with finance and yacht show more selection and moving on through detailed equipment selection yacht preparation, managing life afloat, shorthanded sailing, dealing with foreign bureaucracy and keeping the faith, this excellent book deals effectively with blue water cruising in every detail. Presented in the style of a technical handbook with many clear illustrations and diagrams this book is well structured and beautifully indexed such that it not only makes a fascinating winter read but also a serious work of reference to take on board.
This book does what it says on the cover, “The essential guide to blue water cruising”. My copy is on order!
