The name "The Art of C Programming" implies it is an intermediate or advanced book. It is not; it is for beginners and compares it to Basic. Basic is used extensively to explain C. The book is also extremely liberal about the use of the word "which" instead of "that". The style is an advantage for those that prefer a less technical introduction to C but it is irritating for me.
Chapter 1 is a very basic explanation of compilers and interpreters. Chapter 5 is "Strings, Arrays and Pointers". It show more does not explain any of that very well and therefore I consider the book to be too minimal to help much. It might help you get started learning but you will need another book to really be able to write code. show less
