Annika Norlin

This collection of eight short stories, the author’s fiction debut, is as good as any by authors who have been writing and publishing for decades. They display an amazing versatility and taken together present a beautiful portrait of the individual’s struggle with this phenomenon we call life.

Annika Norlin has a remarkable ability to enable the reader to identify with her characters with a minimum of words. I thoroughly enjoyed this short story, in my opinion one of her best.

Appreciated the unusual plotting in this book and the insights into what makes a cult form and sustain itself and then collapse.

Norlin's characters are all so real: she knows every feeling of every person. In telling the stories of a small group of people who choose to live in near-silent isolation in rural Sweden the author brings a light touch to big ideas.
