This pushed all my geek buttons. Intricate patterns that I have to first translate from a language that I can only speak poorly in? I'm in!
Gorgeous patterns with lovely photography. They symbols on the charts were a bit dicey for me until I realized that all Japanese knitting patterns have to use the same symbols, by law. If Japan ran the world we would only have one method for sizing knitting needles! How great would that be!

Many of the patterns in the book are a fusion of several styles, Bavarian twisted stitches and Aran mesh in Number 11for example, while Number 9 mixes lace and Aran stitches.
