Holy sheet! BETWEEN is an awesome read! There's magic and romance, with a side of fantastic voice. Megan Whitmer has created a realm so vivid and beautiful, the reader can't help but want to be a part of it. This is a must read!!!
I had absolutely no expectations before diving into Between. I hadn’t read anything about it, men chose is only because of the cover and the title – I figured it would be something about two worlds and some sort of port or tunnel or whatever and I was not completely wrong!

Through most of the book I really thought it was great and that Charlie was funny and interesting. She replaces swear words with ordinary words that rhymes and it was fun and cute at first, but it got old surprisingly show more fast and I ended up swearing at her and trying to make her stop. But besides that, she was awesome at first. Her reaction to the whole supernatural-thing is so real and she seems like an actual human being who reacts when things get to strange. But at some point, she turns into an idiot. That may not be the best way to put it, but it is true none the less. She makes stupid decisions, ignores everybody when they try to tell her something important (like obeying orders) and mostly just gets herself into dumb situations. I got so sick of her! The rest of the characters are kind of meh, but there were a couple of cute guys among them and the love part wasn’t awful.

What makes Between worth reading is the idea behind it – the idea about the two worlds and the in-between. It was very interesting, well executed and I never grew tired of discovering new things about Elluria. But I wanted more – more discoveries, more adventure, and more magic. I simply couldn’t get enough.

I have to admit, though, that I have no intentions of reading anything more about Elluria or Charlie, simply because by the end of Between I hated Charlie. Her behavior was ridicules and stupid and I just didn’t care for her anymore. I would have loved to know more about the amazing Elluria and discover what Megan Whitmer’s fantasy held in store for me, but that would take a main character that I did not hate and Charlie is just not that character!
