Reading the script after seeing the play is always interesting. This is a very ambitious undertaking - to turn the entirety of the story of the Morte d'Arthur into a single evening's drama - albeit one that lasts three and a half hours. The beginning feels very Malory, the end brings us closer to the human drama TH White makes of the matter of England. Using Malory's language on stage works surprisingly well, the tragedy unfolds itself in unadorned rhythmic prose that creates real emotional show more intensity. show less
