Unsure of the date but the coloured and black and white drawings are a delight - I suspect the 1930s. Elizabeth Craig (1883 - 1980) was a Scottish writer and cook, a prolific producer of cookery books - very reliable. Unlike some books from two or three decades later, I find this very useable.
a book for the "modern" housewife which includes chapters such as Entertaining without a Maid, Making the Most of Left-Overs, Dodges to Prevent Waste, Fattening Recipes, Washing Up, and illustrations such as A Nursery Breakfast, Barley Water for the Invalid etc. Also hints on first-aid, how to cure warts with potato water, how to prevent babies kicking off their bedclothes at night, and how to make cod liver oil emulsion. This belonged to my mother.
Maybe some gems can be mined here when the electric stove was young and electricity was being promoted for wide domestic use. Craig has model good looks, always a good sell.
