A collection of 43 magic spells for protection of persons and property from such adversities as theft, physical trauma, legal judgements, illness, mate stealers, etc. These spells typically involve elements from a menu of candles, incantations, herbs, colored mojo bags and auspicious days, hours & lunar phases. The text overall has a definite hoodoo flavor but is eclectic enough to include an appeal to Lord Shiva and use of the Wiccan athame. There are numerous errors of spelling and grammar show more (including errors of grammar in spoken incantations). I also noticed an error in a diagram showing the placement of items on an alter (one of the important items was not indicated in the diagram). There are a great many special items such as oils and types of incense with hoodoo type names which are mentioned but for which no further description is provided (examples include: “uncrossing oil” “four thieves vinegar” “jinx removing incense”). This leaves the reader in the position of either buying the required items from specialty vendors or hunting down other instructions on how to make them. I confess to not being a big hoodoo person, so I suppose that may be a given. In spite of these criticisms, the little book seems worthwhile. show less
