Black needed to write this book as a mother searching for a mother. I , on the other hand, did not have to read it (wanted to suggest it to a friend in need, searching for a nugget of useful information). This book went nowhere. It was a mish-mash of her personal account, other women's experiences and expert's verbiage. It was a very long and relatively boring magazine article. The conclusion, anyone can be great mother if she puts her mind to it, could have been stated in so many words and show more many less pages. show less
Great combination of personal and broad history.
Really fascinating account of this disease and how it affected our times (non-fiction).
