I read/sang this with my granddaughter and she listened and watched carefully (she is 2). She sang the chorus with me. I know she did not know what some of the works meant so after singing the song, we talked about the beautiful water colour images. A cute addition to a Winter Holiday library. She did come back and want to look at it and sing again, so that makes it a success. The publisher, Xist Publishing, generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. Michael Hague brings his imagination to work with these illustrations set to the Jingle Bells carol. Woodland animals, such as mice, ducks, rabbits, and bears are featured in the spot-on artwork (my favorite is the raccoon in angel attire). The book is built for tiny hands and is perfect for stocking stuffers.
I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, but unfortunately the formatting was so terrible the book was unreadable. You could only make out parts of a few words. Illustrations seen were mediocre. (This review pertains to the edition published by Xist and illustrated by Jade Goegebuer. I noticed someone has combined editions of this work to include multiple illustrators.)
