I kind of disliked this story because I could not understand how the unnamed young boy's transformation took place. The story begins with him loathing everything and everyone around him. From there, he decides that he needs to escape by "going away." Then he somehow develops wings to find where away is located. He searches and searches until he comes upon an owl who has instantly changed his perception of "away." The owl asks, "love anyone?" Now, the boy suddenly realizes that he loves his show more family. I did like the concept of the story, but I believe the book would have been more interesting the author would have elaborated on that part of the story. show less
"Bad Day" sums up how an average child might feel sometimes. They get to the age where they hate everything and everyone. At the end of the day, they realize how much their family truly loves them and that hate is just a temporary emotion.
