I'm enjoying this series, I like how they have made the characters into something more than the stories we have heard and while there isn't a lot of female diversity of shape there are a lot of strong female characters who actually are interesting and often have conversations that are nothing about a man.
There are new characters into the mix and more explaining about the back story of the characters and what made them what they are. You can see how they were warped or encouraged into their show more current shapes.
I will be continuing to follow this series. show less

Fairy tale characters are cursed to live in the real world.
3/4 (Good).
I wouldn't exactly recommend it. The casting is bad (it's impossible to tell most of these people apart). The writing is bad (I didn't get invested in any of these characters, and the dialog is painful). The special effects look like they're from the 90s. But I love fairy tales, and I love the recasting-iconic-characters game of the premise, so it would have to be a lot worse than this to get me to not like it. And the show more overarching plot, despite similarities to Lost, is self-contained and just the right complexity for a 22-episode season (while also building a huge world to explore in later seasons, fingers crossed).

Jafar from Aladdin goes to Wonderland.
2.5/4 (Okay).
The plot is slower and considerably less intricate than Once Upon a Time, but it's more or less That Same Sort Of Thing.

Fairy tale characters living in the real world vs. Peter Pan and the Wicked Witch of the West.
2.5/4 (Okay).
It's terrible, but it's manic, bananas terrible. I'm growing to have a grudging respect for it. There's hardly a scene that goes by without some sort of major development. It isn't going anywhere in particular, but it's always moving.
