I enjoy reading this book. I like pointing at the bubblyjocks (turkeys) "washing oot their socks", and the "thoosans o' bees". It's a bit confusing for a poor little southern lad, though, telling the difference between a moose in the hoose and a moose with antlers.
Said to be the first published novel ever written entirely in Scots. A futuristic tale exploring our response to contagious disease, well worth the read; non-native readers may have difficulty, however.
a very funny book of poems in scottish saving it for my wee neice
