Organizing Audiovisual and Electronic Resources for Access: A Cataloging Guide (Library and Information Science Text Series) by Ingrid Hsieh-Yee
A nice overview. The first two chapters comprise one of the better explanations I've read about the basic considerations and mechanics of cataloging and the organization of information.
I must admit that I didn't read every chapter, but that more a factor of my busy semester rather than the book.
I would be concerned about how much longer this book will be relevant, with the advent of RDA and the rapid changes in formats of electronic resources.
