I usually avoid self-help books like the plague, but this one is more of a guide to how you'll probably feel and react if you are ever thusly laid low by unreturned affection. It introduced me to a new vocab word limerence: "the state of being infatuated or obsessed with another person, typically experienced involuntarily and characterized by a strong desire for reciprocation of one's feelings but not primarily for a sexual relationship." The author mixes anecdotal evidence with academic show more documentation in a very readable style. She uses her own out-of-control stalking episode as a framework, which mostly works but gets a bit repetitive. It might help to cure what ails you if you're ever stuck in this self-defeating miserable mode. show less
Good introductions, but often too much filler that didn't speak to the essence of the subject.
As an NPR junkie this helped my habit along by telling me about the people behind the voices I hear everyday. It's nice to know who your friends are.
Noah Adam's attempt to learn the piano is one of the highlights.
