I was given a copy of this work in exchange for an honest review. Ms. Finn requested a story review only.
This story starts out in the middle of a frightening situation. The main character, Lyssa, and her friend, Suzette, are pleading with law enforcement for assistance with someone that has been stalking Lyssa. Suzette is a friend that, when she is introduced, is vocal and boisterous. She wants to insure that the police are looking after her friend. After feeling like they have hit a brick show more wall with the traditional route, an officer steps outside of his duties and sends the women to speak with "Trapper." Trapper has an interesting history and he seems to be a shady, mysterious character. However, he has taken on the arduous task of keeping watch over Lyssa. As parts of the story start to unfold, new stories are constructed.
The author did an amazing job of telling the story. She was very thorough with details and descriptions. There were several points where I could visualize the setting and it made this fun story even more entertaining. I also appreciate the author's writing style and her ability to draw the reader in.
The following may contain spoilers. SPOILERS ALERT!
Scarlett Finn does an awesome job of pulling the reader into a world that is typically frowned upon. With Lyssa's position (in terms of livelihood) she does something that you wouldn't expect someone in her position to do. And, Lyssa's reason for doing this so willingly is an almost genius tie-in to the main story. But, the fact that this "second job" helps build so much of the rest of the story is impressive. The ground work is laid to plant seeds and build suspicion for who the "bad guy" would be by the end of the story. Unfortunately, I had that figured out pretty quickly, though I expected a twist that would surprise me. (Challenge yourself and see if you can figure out "who-dun-it") I was curious to see how Ms. Finn would tie this story up. I was not disappointed. This author is clever!
When the curtain draws to a close, the endng is well written and the novel picks up a little speed, adding a lot of intensity to an already intense situation. I give the author kudos, however. The "hero" that saves the day wasn't what I expected. So, that was an interesting surprise. The stalkers motive was also unexpected. I like it when an author can pull one over on me. Scarlett Finn does just that. This is very impressive, considering I'm not easy to surprise.
Overall, I feel the characters are interesting. The story lines are intriguing and, while some parts seemed too predictable to be true, there are a few "gotchas" that you won't see coming. I feel Ms. Finn did a great job with all aspects of this story. It is easy to read. The story is interesting. The characters are likable/believable and this story has a lot of intricacies interwoven.
I proudly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading crime dramas/suspense/mystery. I am thankful that I was afforded the opportunity to review this work. I enjoyed this piece. Typically, I can read a book in a day. This one is long, so you get lots of bang for your buck.
If I HAD to offer a negative about this book, I would say that there are a couple of redundancies and a character is named before the reader is introduced to them. But, when you have a novel of this length that is this involved and detailed, those are very minor issues to have. I'm proud for Ms. Finn. This is a beautiful display of a talented author with a knack for keeping the reader in suspense. Well done, S. Finn! show less

The first part of this book was intense to say the least. I wasn't sure how the story was going to come back from that or even progress since Nya was soon taken by Archer as this intense scene was happening. Archer was so different than I was expecting and he was not at all the person I initially thought.
The story was actually well thought out and watching Nya and Archer together were great. They definitely had chemistry. I would have liked certain areas fleshed out more. The first show more being the reason that Archer wanted to find Tag. In this business the amount seemed paltry. The other main one was the "solution" to the problem. It just left off and ended. I hope in the next book that there is more to Nya and Archer and also where things went with Tag. show less

This story continued on the vengeance that Nya wanted but not exactly the way she was expecting it. I fell even harder for Archer in this one. Good Lord. Love him. I was frustrated at how they came to be in the position they are at the end of this book. It just seemed so black or white and no compromise. I hope the next book this story is resolved because as it stands now it is a mess.

This is going to come out mixed on how I liked this story. Some parts were great , especially, the bantering between Nya and Archer. It was the details in the story, especially with Tag and Gio that I wanted more. I want the details there. What does the future hold? I hope they get a story. This book ended on a HFN
