Life - Nature's Fury: The Illustrated History of Wild Weather & Natural Disasters (Life (Life Books)) by Life
Having used this in my Earth science class, I would recommend this to other science teachers. I only used parts of this book that related to the material that my class was studying, but I am actually using another part of it this week. It is an interesting resource, and tells the story of people's reactions to natural disasters. There were quotations from people who lived through the disasters and pictures from primary sources of the disasters. Often times students learn about these aspects show more of Earth science, but they seem so far removed from the students' actual lived. I feel like this book helps bring science closer to my students. show less
Before it was reincarnated as the familiar photojournalism weekly, LIFE Magazine was "a humorous weekly". This book is a collection of excerpts from the magazine, 1885 to 1889. Of interest to anybody wishing to get a sense of the culture and styles of these times in America, and of interest to me also as I collect LIFE Magazine.
A collection of photos reproduced from LIFE magazine. The reproduction quality could have been better for this softbound edition.
