I understand zero books is a bit of a boys club where showing off your vocabulary and how deeply you’ve read all the big Frankfurt school names is par for the course, but there does need to be some substance to your book.

Also, it’s possible to reject anthropocentrism without devolving into childish nihilism. (Nitpicking of the term ‘nihilism’ in a philosophical context is one thing, but are you going to argue that asserting that all life is nothing but slime speaking to itself is not show more nihilistic?) show less

No idea how to rate this one; potentially interesting, but it was so terribly edited, I got tripped up quite a bit. Haven't seen a book in such bad need of copyediting in a long time.

would be 4 stars if it had been edited well. A great many typos. Woodard's writing tends excessively towards the paratactic.
