This manga was super adorable! I loved the art style, the characters, and even the storyline which is surprisingly rare for me. The main characters felt very human with their flaws (minus some of the slight over exaggeration but its a fictional story so I didn't really expect anything else) and how they worked towards fixing them even if the process was hard and they weren't perfect at it. Hananoi is pretty intense in his feelings which COULD be seen as love-bombing especially when its being show more directed at someone as "ambivalent" to romance as Hotaru but honestly I think its just a case of him having a lot of emotions and not knowing what to do with them because he was never taught the "proper" ways to express himself. Hotaru does acknowledge his behavior as unhealthy though and find ways to compromise in a way that's healthier for both of them. I really appreciate this aspect of the story cause more often than not authors will just have the characters sweep stuff like that under the rug and pretend its normal which isn't exactly what I want to see in a YA story. Overall, I really enjoyed this manga and am super excited to read the next book!! I can't wait to see their romance blossom! show less
Hananoi is the perfect representation of a red flag that I have ever encountered in a romance manga (besides in Boys over Flowers). I wanted Hotaru to run away as fast as possible. There is no excusing this behavior, it doesn't matter if this is a trope in shojo, or in any romance series, his actions are really creepy. I felt uncomfortable the whole time reading this volume, so I'm going to say this series isn't for me. He may become less of a red flag as the story goes on, but that does not show more excuse they creepiest panel in the whole manga when he's on his knees in the snow giving the scariest smile I have ever seen. show less
This has my interest so far. A rare look of a male pick-me or diet-yandere for the anime girlies.

I really like how cute and earnest Hotaru is. Hanoi has obvious issues, so we will see how that unfolds.
This volume is a lot of fun and I enjoyed getting to meet Hananoi's father in this volume. I also liked seeing a bit more of Hotaru's friend and her possible love interest in this volume. I look forward to seeing what happens next in this series.
