Surprisingly fresh. Nice notes. Wide variety of stem ga games and openings with variations. Extremely dated but the games are fun.
An entertaining and instructive collection of games. The only minus point I can possibly think of is that it's in descriptive notation (1.P-K4). It's a kind of relaxing reference book I regularly return to every few weeks or months. Great.
has wonderful tidbits I've seen in no other game compilation, such as the only game(s) I know of between Morphy and Staunton, and what has to be the shortest Master game on record (1.e4 c6, 2.d4 d5, 3.Nc3 dxe 4. Nc3xe4 Nd7 5.Qe2, Ngf6 6. Nd6 1-0)
