Daniel Clarke Smith was born in Waterbury, CT and spent his early years living near large bodies of water and US Navy bases since his father was a career Naval officer. Much later he moved to the center of the continent, got a degree in medicine, raised a family and asked himself if there was a life after all that. The answer was to become a novelist and expose the world to his dreams, hopefully with good results.
