This is more of a Trader Vic the individual cookbook, than a Trader Vic's the restaurant/tavern cookbook. Rum-centric, this is mostly designed for home parties, with lots of advice and snark. Alas, no My-Tai, Crab Rangoon, nor Pu-Pu Platters. Also, no Pina Colada, but the back cover and end flap pictures show that Trader Vic's hair was perfect.
Chicken with pineapple, p. 166, this reviewer liked it better than any local Chinese take out, but other three disliked it for varying reasons. Basic show more & simple.
Caribbean Punch, p. 78. mild; reduce water to 116 oz., increase Jamaica rum to 18 oz.. increase curaƧao to 4.5 oz., falernum at 1 c. yum. show less

This is a great guide for all bartenders, both amateur and professional. Hailed as one of the best guides in the business, this book certainly does not disappoint. For me, I like to employ this book even more so around the holidays. After all, the holidays are a lot more pleasant with a few libations.
Not authentic Mexican by any means, but interesting from an historical perspective. And Vic's writing is always interesting too.
A pretty funny read, haven't tried the recipes. Not your usual cook book prose :-) Trader Vic is a salty guy, and doesn't mince words.
