This book is guaranteed to make you laugh – or chuckle, at least. Yes, it is silly, it reflects total self-absorption and material envy. But it is funny. She says things I have wanted to say – but in a different way. She pulls no punches. My first chuckle came in the Introduction. She says she invited their drug dealer to Passover seder because she didn’t want him to think they were only using him for drugs. Yeah, you read that right. From knowing where to get the best knock-offs of show more Birkins, to thinking her newborn baby looks like Caesar from Little Caeser’s Pizza and hearing him say Pizza pizza” before he is taken away for a bath, to being convinced there’s a ghost in her house. Somewhat neurotic, definitely funny. show less
To be completely honest, the entire book reeks with desperation. Jenny wants so badly to be famous, to be accepted, to be loved, to be relevant and she will go to any extreme for all of those things. In a way I understand that feeling, especially in regards to her longing to be cool and worthy enough for her child, however, this desperation is just too much for me. Writing can be therapeutic and I hope, in this case, that it was especially therapeutic for Jenny. If nothing else, this book show more confirmed to be that I do not want to become a therapist, life coach, or psychiatrist. show less
I loved this.....I enjoy her humor, her life stories. I laughed out loud many times, and am going to read her other memoirs. Very good and recommended if you like a humorous take on life and family.
I had not heard of Jenny Mollen before I saw this book listed on as a Giveaway on Goodreads. I was happy to win an Advanced Reading Copy (and yes there are some typos that need fixed).

Jenny was only 33 years old when she wrote this and it can't be easy to write an autobiography when you are only 33. She is funny though and the book is light and enjoyable read.

The stories here are sometimes graphic (poodle pooping condoms). There is sex, drugs, stalking, visits to the therapist, vomit, and show more whatever. There is somewhat of a biography here but mostly it is just a collection of stories about her life that will make you laugh. show less
