Sam wants to play on the playground. But he has to wait and take his turn!! Why?? Its so frustrating he wants to pout and throw things all about. And the Temper hears him and comes by. He shows Sam how to clear the place out and Sam decides to keep him as a pet. But soon the beastly thing is following him everywhere! Causing trouble and trouble more! And Sam, knows he needs to get rid of the Temper. But what can he do?
This is a great little book about emotions and show more how to control them. By personifying “temper,” it helps children (and adults to be honest) understand better what they’re feeling when they get upset or are angry and what can happen if they don’t control them. It also makes for some funny situations as Sam tries to learn to control Temper and sees the effects it has on those around him.
This book will help children (and again adults) learn that acting on their emotions can have consequences. The drawings of Temper and Sam will help readers connect with what happens sometimes when emotions get out of control, and pretty accurately capture how not only the reader feels, but others as well.
Good overall story and feel. 4 out of 5 stars. show less

The Nut That Fell from the Tree is inspired by a rhyme - The House that Jack Built, which is absolutely awesome! I love new adaptations of old favourites, so this already has a leg up against the competition.
Our story follows Jill and her little tree house. All of the adventures and shenanigans that occur happen because of an oak that fell from the tree. The journey is cute and fun, and definitely silly and goofy enough for young readers.
This book is more of a fun, rhyming game. It's a show more great book for young readers! I would recommend this book purely for the enjoyment it can bring.
The illustrations are whimsical and colourful, making this book stand out. I think they were quite cute and unique.
Three out of five stars.

5. I really liked the book “Sam’s Pet Temper” by Sangeeta Bhadra and Marion Arbona because it addressed the ways in which a child can learn to control his or her temper. The book is organized in a way that is visually appealing to children and the writing style of the story includes dialogue and words in larger fonts to show their emphasis and importance. The illustrations in the book also become draker and more elaborate as the tension rises in the book, while ending in a peaceful show more manner with bright and happy colors. The book is written in first person, which I think is beneficial to the reader’s ability to relate to the story because it shows the main character’s thought process as he struggled to control his temper. The main message of this story is that one’s temper does not control them and emphasizes the thought, “Terrible temper, don’t you know that I’m stronger than you?” show less
Really cute story about a boy and his temper. One of the best storybooks we currently have in our store for ages 3-5.
