One of the first books on puppetry that I ever read, this book continues to be an inspiration and challenge to me as I work in puppet ministry.
Bil Baird was to the 40's, 50's and 60's what Jim Henson was to the 70's, 80's and 90's. Many people have seen his work and don't realize it. The "Lonely Goatherd" sequence in "The Sound of Music" is a great example of Baird's masterful use of the marionette.
