Fairytale comedy. Who knew people were already making fun of fairytale tropes as early as the 1870's! Thats not to say it just grabs a bunch of fairytales and mashes them together. It rather builds its own unique world which just happens to collide with some of the better known fairytale ones.
I will say some of its political satire while funny is definitely too highbrow for the kids of today and probably the kids of the 1870's too i'd imagine.
An interesting and fun read for older fans of show more things like 'Once Upon A Time', Shrek, Terry Pratchett etc. show less

I was very disappointed with this book. The introduction and the first story showed great promise, but the book failed to live up to this. The stories were either uninteresting or I didn’t like the LibriVox narrator. And I didn’t hear anything about Christmas. Perhaps it was mentioned in the stories I skipped.
