This is a very handy guide to houseplants (including cacti and succulents) with 427 color photographs. It has short but informative sections on plant care, with a guide to potting, propagation, and watering. (The part on watering emphasizes that it is not an exact science and that mastering it will take "common sense, a little practice, and the understanding that it is usually better to err on the too-dry side...."). The annotated visual guide is divided by type: hanging plants, small show more foliage plants, orchids, bromeliads and flowers, showy foliage pallets, lacy leaves, and succulents and others.

This is a useful book for any indoor gardener to have on hand.

One of my "new" favourites! I have actually used it for bedtime reading twice. It is the basis for our over all plan for our double-lot home.
Featuring an encyclopedia of 300 bulbs, this is the most comprehensive guide available. Helpful tips for selecting the best plant for a particular ground area and a step-by-step guide to planting are also included in this book.
A useful reference, including planting tips.
This is fairly comprehensive for northern gardeners. Very few pictures, but plenty of text.
