"Wisden 2003" is another fine entry in the "Wisden" almanack series. This was number 140 and, as ever, "Wisden" covers almost everything related to cricket that's fit to cover.

The big issues for 2003 included Zimbabwe's political problems sapping the confidence of its players, Kenya doing so well in the World Cup, reaching the semi-finals (so long ago now, sadly) and the international calendar becoming far too bloated.

We saw the passing of Hanse Cronje, Ben Hollioake and Subhash Gupte and show more most importantly, a swarm of bees interrupted a first-class match in Southampton before "the Honeyman" was called in to save the day. show less
