Though it may be out of print, this is simply the best handbook ever written for English grammar. The author taught for years at Groton (he's now deceased) but he made it student-friendly as well as a great tool for the English teacher. I have many, many grammar texts but Precision is the only one that I use regularly. I have encouraged my publisher, Wayside Press, to pick it up and publish it.
As the title suggests, this is an entire book dedicated to fallacies of argument and logic. It's a slim little volume, fairly inexpensive and doesn't take up a lot of space. Therefore, I highly suggest this to anyone studying writing, literature, history, critical thinking, communication ... well, just about everything, really. Learn how to fill up the holes in your logic while simultaneously pointing out the gaps in others'! Seriously, though, having this book on hand will greatly refine show more your writing and analytical skills. Oh, and don't be confused by the edition with a red cover; it's the same content as the blue edition. show less
