Teaches about colors using quilt designs, which are listed at the back of the book. Intelligently written for all ages, the book briefly discusses how colors affect each other, optical illusions, and more.
My Perspective:
This book provides examples of a variety of common optical illusions. It look a bit outdated but actually is very effective in giving quality examples of common optical illusions.

Publication Date: August 2, 1993 | Age Level: 8 and up | Grade Level: 4 and up
"Westray's experience as a children's book art director and designer is evident throughout this attractive and innovative title. Playing on the word 'sampler,' she uses patchwork-quilt patterns to present primary, secondary, intermediate, and complementary colors . . . The scarcity of titles on this subject for older readers makes this an especially useful addition to any collection. Be sure to show more sample this one." -- School Library Journal ALA Notable Book Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books -- Blue Ribbon Winner show less
